Mauve Silk Suit with Silver Zari Embroidery

This suit trades gold for silver  a mauve silk base with metallic silver thread embroidery worked into a chevron pattern at the yoke and hem. It's a three-piece set, a straight-cut silk kurta, matching straight pants with a soft sheen, and a sheer dupatta edged in the same silver embroidery.

Design Details:

The Embroidery

The yoke carries the heaviest work  corded silver thread in a chevron and leaf pattern, with small bead and sequin accents along the border. Smaller floral motifs scatter down the body, and the same chevron border repeats at the hem and on the dupatta's edge.

The Dupatta

The dupatta is sheer rather than opaque, with a scalloped hem finished in the same silver embroidery. It's light enough to drape loosely without adding bulk to the rest of the outfit.

Fit & Comfort:

The kurta is cut straight, falling to about calf length, and worn over straight-fit pants rather than a flared palazzo  both in a silk with a subtle sheen. Sleeves are three-quarter length with an embroidered cuff to match the yoke.

How to Style It

The mauve-and-silver combination reads a little more understated than gold-heavy pieces, so it works for daytime festive events as easily as evening ones. Oxidised silver jewelry or pearls suit it better than gold.
